News: October 2013

So, my latest book giveaways have just ended [(American Princess) (Be Normal)]. I love promoting this way. Who doesn't love to get a free book in the mail? I was very excite over the summer when I finally won a book!

I like to do something a little extra with my giveaways, if I can. American Princess is the best book for including extras. Color illustration prints & custom book marks! Don't cry, the non-illustrated books :( still come with a prize.

Well, I hope to see you all soon for my next giveaways which will hopefully be later on this year for Endless Rhyme and Rag Doll. Followed by The Incredible Boy series.

Books and Series:

Harry Potter!
Cathy Vickers Trilogy!
His Dark Materials!

The Hunger Games
Screwing Up Time Series

Where the Sidewalk Ends

A Series of Unfortunate Events-I kind of recommend this.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid-I recommend the early books in this series.

(Maybe) Daughters of the Moon-Years ago I would have recommended this series.
(Maybe) Children of the Sea (Manga)-If you have the patience.

Ralph Waldo Emserson
Dan Brown
Frances Hodgson Burnett
Jane Austen
Edgar Allen Poe

Screwing up Time (a series i lurv) by CM Keller

This is a break from the usual.
I took this neat quiz for this book series that I really like. I definitely recommend it. It is a fun and easy story to get lost in.
I'm Miranda.
Now, who are you?

Which Character Are You in Screwing Up Time?
You are very smart, responsible and determined. No one would believe that you’re a romantic at heart.

Warning: Don’t push away the person you love just because he/she doesn’t have a great vocabulary.

Updates on the New Books

Hello there! It's been a while since I've checked in.

I've been really busy with life, but I've still been writing and working on a few stories.

Update #1: "Endless Rhyme" is coming to fruition. It's almost ready to share with the world. It will be released in fall.

The tab for Endless Rhyme has been updated and it will continue to update until the release. A preview flip book will be available online soon.

So far, I've introduced the inspiration behind the making of this book and added preview art. Check it out.

Update #2: Finished the first draft of Maggie the Rag doll.

By the end of June, I will release the cover for this book as well as create an online page dedicated to it.

Prototype cover available. Title: Rag doll.

Poem 1

Endless Rhyme (working title) is a collection of poems that so far summarize the past 25 years of living. It is separated into several different categories such as love, loss, dreams, and all that lies in between.  Below is a poem some maybe familiar with already. It is from American Princess. It is included in my Dreamer Poems for the reasons I created it. It is included in the dreamer section because sometimes the sentiment feels like a lovely dream.

Everything Nice

Painted hearts upon a dresser drawer
Starry eyes of dreams galore
Gems of all shapes and colors
Loveliness born of no other
Soda pops and sugary treats
Moms, dads;
And brothers with stinky feet
Desperate grapple with the factual
Pleated skirts and untended hurts
Friends and frienemies
No money can buy
Boys, toys, making tons of noise
Hate and fate with no escape
Envy, joy, and all the above
Roses, Daises
Daffodils, Crazies
Shoes, blues, and funky hair dos
Innocuous wants and toxic avenues
Hopes and fears
Too many tears
Heaven’s angels
And Man’s frailty               (2008: American Princess)

Still writing but also getting back into art

I haven't drawn in so long (with the exception of design covers). I've been focusing on my writing and marketing which is very time consuming.

Of course, there is my art/poetry book that bridges the gap between my writing world and my art world. This new venture mostly consisted of my previously finished work but I always planned on making some new things and I finally started drawing. I almost forgot how exhilarating it is.
