This Amazing World

FROST
It's is a cold morning but there is something wonderful about today. FROST. The frost left my front lawn a pale shad of green. No big deal. And then while traveling in the car I saw the frost shimmering in the sun. BEAUTIFUL.
Rooftops sparkle and the grass does too.

Quick November Update 2015

Hello Readers,

Anyone here from Goodreads will see that I stole this post from my author Page ;)

Here is a quick update since its has been awhile without one.

It is suddenly cold here in Michigan and today is the second day with snow. B-e-a-utiful. With a fresh sparkling layer of snow, the world looks like a Christmas card. It is hard not to have Christmas on the mind. I could do without the cold weather though.

Anyway, on to books. Here's what's new: PRICE DROPS. It is time to knock a few bucks off my books, both print and ebook. And all Kindle MatchBooks for the print title are FREE.

The Incredible Boy
Print: $9.50
Ebook: $0.99

Be Normal
Print: $11.00
Ebook: $0.99

American Princess

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Eat, read, and have fun :)

Sincerely,
Brittany

September: 2015: past and future

September Closes

As September closes, I am thinking of the past and the future...

Right now, I am still working on the same three projects set aside at the beginning of this year. Endless Rhyme, Justin!, and Rag Doll. They are all in some form of completion.

I have been writing long enough to know that some projects just take a long time to complete. I started writing stories when I was 16. I had fantasies of one day publishing my stories, but my enthusiasm waned as time went on. I no longer believed I would publish a story, yet I still had ideas and stories trapped inside of me. I continued to write everything down. Random bits and stories without endings. Finally, I had a good idea -- a story worth telling. I persisted although it took years to complete. It took three years and I did publish.

I suppose my diligence, persistence, and patience comes from many years of drawing. I learned a long time ago to never give up on a drawing. Sometimes a masterpiece takes many tries and many years to complete. At times, I was frustrated when I could not get a drawing to come out perfect. I was still determined to complete it. Thankfully, this determination and patience carried over into my writing.

Some writing projects need to sit for a while. I needed to step back and look at what I made. Often when drawing, one needs to take a break, step back, and look at the whole picture. This process will help to find flaws and help the artist to see where to proceed. I apply this basic technique to my writing so that I can see it with fresh eyes.

I am looking with fresh eyes.

Summer, Sun, and Schedules...

Well my summer has not included a lot of time with  me sitting in front of my computer. It has included a lot of me in the sun. So my summer has been a little unexpected and off schedule.
